Running the Java Variable Example

This example shows how to input variables from inside of the engine by using a HashMap object.

Instructions

Open the Command Line Project

  1. Open Catapult. (Found under Start -> All Programs -> Windward Studios -> Windward Reports Java Engine -> Catapult - Windward Sample Programs)
  2. In the Catapult Menu, click the Variable Example Tab.
  3. Click the Variable Example IntelliJ Project File button.

Run the code

1.       On the toolbar on the top of the IntelliJ window, click the run icon.

Note: If you get an error message stating ‘Cannot start compiler: the SDK is not specified for module “Variable”’, your Java Development Kit is not correctly configured with IntelliJ. See our documentation on installing and Configuring IntelliJ for assistance.

2.       In the Command-Line tab in Catapult, click Source Directory.

3.       Open the Variable Example test.pdf file – your report output.

4.       Change the number on this line “map.put("var1", "10537");” to change the output.
