How to restore AutoTag when it is disabled by Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint

Overview

How to restore AutoTag when it is disabled by Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint.

Why it Happens

Microsoft Office occasionally prompts users to disable add-ins. Windward has found that some users are anxious to open their documents or files and they automatically click "OK" to disable the AutoTag add-in without reading the message. This then disables AutoTag from loading in all future instances.

Resolution

Please follow the instructions for your version of Microsoft Office below. The examples below show re-enabling AutoTag in Microsoft Word, but the procedure is similar for Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.

NOTE: To re-enable AutoTag, you will do this for each product (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) in which it has been disabled. This means you can disable Windward for one product and have it enabled for the others.

Office 2013 & Office 2016

If AutoTag is missing from your menu ribbon, it may have been installed but disabled:

To fix this, open the Options dialog:
