AutoTag Whats New Version 9

  • Full use of the ribbon in Office 2007/2010 so you rarely need to bring up a dialog box to create/edit tags. For more please see Interface for Office 2007 (this link also shows the next 3 items in this list).

  • DEPRECATED. DOCX templates can now store tags as a content control instead of a field or text. (Microsoft has not implemented content controls in Excel or PowerPoint.) This requires Word 2007 or 2010.

  • For out and import tags that will display a bitmap, for DOCX templates, the tag can be displayed as a Word picture. You then set bitmap properties such as position, text wrapping, size, etc. using the picture commands in the Word ribbon. All you set using AutoTag is the select for the tag and the sizing rule. This requires Word 2007 or 2010.  Please note that picture properties such as borders, drop shadows, and 3D effects are not supported.

  • For chart tags, for DOCX templates, the tag can be displayed as a Word chart. You then set all chart properties using the chart commands in the Word ribbon. All you set using AutoTag is the selects for the charts. This requires Word 2007 or 2010.

  • If a template has a chart tag as a chart, and the output is a DOCX file, then the generated will be a chart (not a bitmap). This allows report users to then reformat the chart. (There is an option to produce it as a bitmap if you do not want users to be able to do this.)
